Beverly a commencé avec un projet d'enregistrement entre Drew Citron et Frankie Rose, deux natifs Californiens qui se sont rencontrés à New York.
Frankie Rose a fait de la dreampop avec les Vivian Girls, et Citron a fait des tournées avec son groupe : Pains of Being Pure at Heart.
Ca combine raw pop, post punk et harmonies mélodieuses avec des inspirations lo-fi comme The Amps and the Clean.

☻ BUTCH MCKOY (Folk, Americana, Dark / US):
Adolescent rêveur, il découvre un peu sur le tard les Stooges, Pink Floyd et Sonic Youth : c’est le vrai déclic pour le futur chanteur d’I love Ufo
Le vrai départ se fait avec I Love UFO et le 1er al- bum : « Wish » (Record Makers - 2006).
Pendant ce temps Butch prépare la suite de son voyage. Après la traversée du désert, voici la terre promise : comme un pionnier découvrant les rivages de la côte ouest. Mais elles ne sont plus sauvages, à ce parfum d’exotisme se mêlent aussi la ville, son bruit et ses désillusions. Voici « Heart Ink Black », salon de tatouage un peu glauque mais généreux où les rockeurs fatigués de Los Angeles viendraient coucher leurs peines sur des cœurs encore amoureux.
Il est donc prêt maintenant, à la sortie de son deuxième album, à parcourir seul les grands espaces qu’il a lui-même créé. Et à en laisser l’encre d’une marque indélébile.
