Energetic, raw, honest, heart on sleeve punk rock, Brutal Youth have been making waves for the last 4½ years. Formed in 2010, the band hit the ground running and recorded their first album, “Spill Your Guts” minutes before uprooting themselves from St. John’s, NL and moving to Toronto. After settling in to their new digs, Brutal Youth gained attention locally with their lightning-fast sets and their sweat-soaked high-intensity performances. Fast forward 6 months and we find them on the road travelling across Canada, as well as playing shows across the border in the U.S. The band stopped long enough to record a split 10” with Montreal locals Tightrope, which was released in February 2012 (My Fingers! My Brain! Records). But were not content to rest and set their sights on the studio once again, and in Oct of 2012 they recorded their sophomore album “Stay Honest” (My Fingers! My Brain! / Get Party!), which was coupled with a celebratory North American tour.
On the heels of the success of Stay Honest Brutal Youth began once again writing and recording between clusters of shows and came up with a brand new 7" EP “Bottoming Out” (Paper+Plastic) paired with a month chalk-full of dates across Europe. Now having just finished their 3rd album Brutal Youth have teamed up with Stomp Records for their forthcoming album "Sanguine" in Spring of 2016. Brutal Youth are like a gun, just point them at whatever needs to be destroyed.
