LE PITCH : Thelma, une épouse frustrée, suit les conseils de son amie Louise et part avec elle pour un weekend entre femmes à la campagne. Sur la route, un homme essaye de violer Thelma. Louise le tue et intime à Thelma l'ordre de ne pas prévenir la police. Les deux femmes partent en cavale et tentent de rejoindre la frontière du Mexique.
